East Lake Resident Donates an Emergency
Call Box Recovered From Ground Zero

Rich Stafford of Coventry presents
Chief Parks with recovered Call Box

October 28, 2003

East Lake resident Rich Stafford, a retired Nassau County Long Island Police Officer, stopped by Station 57 to donate an unusual item.  Mr. Stafford had an  Emergency call box that was retrieved from Ground Zero.  The box was recovered on September 28, 2001 by Stafford's brother Kevin, also a retired Police Officer, who was helping in the recovery efforts.  It is believed that the box was from building three.  Rich Stafford now resides in Coventry and thought it only be appropriate that his local  fire department house such an item.  We would like to thank Mr. Stafford for his generous donation and continued support.  The call box will be mounted and on display at Station 57 in our meeting room.
