EAST LAKE- East Lake Tarpon Special Fire Control District named Paramedic Bobby Sullivan as the 2009 Firefighter of the Year. Sullivan, age 26, resides in Spring Hill with his wife, Krystal and their dog "Julz". He was born in New Port Richey, Florida and graduated from Hudson High School. Sullivan has been employed by the Department since February 5, 2007. Fire Chief Jeff Malzone stated "he symbolizes the future of this department and has become a great asset to our organization". Sullivan has worked hard earning many educational certifications in his tenure with the Department such as; Live Fire, Wild Brush Fire, Acting Apparatus Driver Engineer Status and Structural Collapse Awareness. Sullivan is spending much of his time now preparing for an upcoming Apparatus Driver Engineer promotion set for March of this year.
