Firefighters Help Out Community Project
Saturday May 14, 2011 East Lake firefighters worked with dozens of community volunteers to help construct a new playground for the North Pinellas YMCA. The firefighters consisted of four on duty personnel,
six
off duty personnel and two Fire Commissioners. The project included
construction of the playset, concrete work and the spreading of mulch. The
playground build took about six hours to complete.
"I was very impressed with the participation from the firefighters," said
Tom Jamison, Acting Fire Chief. "This is
just a start and we hope to be more involved in future community projects."
