Dear Resident and Business Owner:
The Florida Department of Revenue collects a tax from insurance companies on all property insurance policies that they write in Florida. Under a special state retirement program, our District is eligible to receive a portion of this state tax revenue to help fund our Firefighters’ Pension Plan based on policies written covering property within the Fire District boundaries.
We are asking for your help to make sure that the District is receiving its proper share of these state tax monies by contacting your insurance agent or company insuring your property and asking that they review your insurance policy and confirm that they have correctly identified the East Lake Tarpon Special Fire Control District as your fire service provider. Of course, the more money we receive from the State, the less money we have to collect locally to support District programs! Please help by calling your agent/company today!
