New Fire Chief Appointed

New Fire Chief Jeff Malzone congratulated by Chairman McKone

April 4, 2005 - Monday evening the East Lake Fire Rescue Commissioners held a special meeting to appoint a new Fire Chief.  (The position was vacated January 1, 2005 when Chief Jeffrey Parks retired.)  After a nation wide search and interviews of the top four candidates, it was time to make a selection.  After much discussion, a unanimous decision was made to make East Lake's own Fire Marshal and interim Fire Chief Jeff Malzone the new Fire Chief.  Malzone has been with the department since 1984 and will serve as East Lake's 5th Fire Chief.
