SEAN PATRICK DUFF
12/14/1966 - 03/09/2009
It is with our deepest sorrow that we must announce the loss of one of our own firefighters. Firefighter Paramedic Sean Patrick Duff passed away March 9, 2009, after taking his life. Sean Duff, 42 of New Port Richey, had spent 3 tours with East Lake (originally hired on April 19, 1999) 2 tours with St. Petersburg Fire Rescue and part time with Sunstar Paramedics.
After serving in the Marine Corps, Sean began his EMS career in Youngstown, Ohio, and moved to Florida in 1991. Sean was best known for his artistic abilities, culinary expertise, his level of professionalism and his love of helping others in their time of need. Sean was truly a dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic and crew member of East Lake Fire Rescue. Sean will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him. Our department will never be the same but will continue to provide the level of care and professionalism that was an “EVERY DAY” thing from Sean. He was and will forever be our Brother.
Sean leaves behind a wife, Tonya, a daughter, Avonlea, and a step son, Zachary. Our hearts, prayers, and service go out to Sean’s family. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
