Station 57 Ground Breaking Ceremony

Fire Commissioners, Architect and Contractor break ground
East Lake - Ground was broken Tuesday December 19, 2006 on the new Station 57. The new 11,985 square-foot facility will replace the existing, outdated station built in 1980. The station will house a 5 person administrative staff, 4 firefighters and 1 District Chief. It will also serve as the E.O.C (Emergency Operations Center) during hurricanes and disasters. The station will also feature a 1,000 square-foot community / training room that seats approximately 50 people and will be available for public meetings. Hoffman Architects of Tarpon Springs designed the station and it will be built by Peter R. Brown Construction. Construction should begin in January 2007 and finish by September 2007. The cost is estimated at $3.6-million.
